Charles asks…what causes haemorrhoids and what are the treatments? answers:Haemorrhoids are caused by straining too hard while on the toilet. This straining causes blood vessels to burst and hence blood in your stools. To avoid having to exert yourself too much have a diet which provides lots of roughage i.e. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and the occasional spoonful of bran. All this must be accompanied by drinking at least two litres (4 pints) of water a day.
Treatment?Mild cases,see
